If Democrats take Congress next Tuesday, working Americans won't get relief — they'll get a two-year, taxpayer-funded inquisition into Donald Trump's family while gas prices keep climbing and the Epstein files stay sealed.
The establishment press is practically giddy about the prospect. Arkansas Online lays out the Democratic game plan with barely concealed enthusiasm: "literally countless investigations" targeting Trump's pardons, foreign gifts, crypto cash, family finances, and even Don Jr.'s Bahamas wedding, bankrolled by a Russian oligarch. Former Republican-turned-Democrat Kurt Bardella is already coordinating the political theater, telling Arkansas Online that "every Trump investigation needs a price tag" and pitching an "oversight czar" to run the whole show. That's not accountability. That's a messaging operation dressed up as one.
Here's what that operation won't fix: the price of carne asada. Breitbart reports that Latino voters who flipped for Trump in 2024 are now experiencing what one Arizona mayor calls a "rude awakening." Fernando Nunez, 22, went door-to-door for Trump in the searing heat. Now he says "Trump betrayed us" — furious about the sealed Epstein files and a war with Iran that, he told Breitbart, "we're only in this war because of Israel." He earns $1,600 a month. Gas, insurance, food — all more expensive. He's voting for neither party.
That's the story both establishments want buried. Arkansas Online frames the Democrat agenda as "undoing damage." Breitbart documents the damage itself — inflation driven by foreign entanglements, promises broken on transparency and peace. And Atlanta Black Star offered a crying toddler at a White House Halloween event as its contribution to the national conversation. Social media declared the spooked child a truth-teller. That's the institutional left's idea of accountability: a viral clip, not a policy answer.
The bipartisan failure is the real scandal. Republicans sold working Americans on lower prices, no new wars, and full transparency — then delivered the opposite. Democrats are preparing to spend two years investigating Trump's cryptocurrency deals while the war driving your gas prices goes unquestioned. Bardella's newsletter headline says it plainly: "Every Trump investigation needs a price tag." He means a political price tag. Working Americans are paying the literal one.
If Democrats win, the oversight czar gets an office, the consultant class gets contracts, and the committee hearings get airtime. The voters in Somerton, Arizona — where nearly 40 percent of the heavily Latino town backed Trump and now feel burned — get nothing. Many told Breitbart they won't vote for Democrats either. They'll just stay home.
The stakes Tuesday aren't whether Trump gets investigated. They're whether anyone in Washington bothers to address what's actually crushing the people who pay for all of it.
