Effective June 24, 2026

Dissenter aims to report clearly and honestly. Because our articles synthesize coverage from many outlets through an automated process, errors can occur — in facts, emphasis, attribution, or AI-generated imagery. When we learn of a substantive mistake, we correct it.

How our stories are built

Each article begins with broad monitoring of news sources. We compare how outlets cover a story, then synthesize that reporting into a single piece from our stated editorial vantage. Sources used in synthesis are listed at the bottom of every article. Readers should treat those links as the primary record for verification.

Hero images are AI-generated illustrations, not photographs. They must never be read as visual evidence of events.

What we correct

We will correct material errors, including but not limited to:

  • Incorrect names, dates, places, numbers, or quotations;
  • Mischaracterization of what a cited source reported;
  • Significant omissions that change the meaning of the story;
  • Broken or wrong attribution to a synthesis source.

We generally do not issue corrections for differences of opinion, headline tone, or editorial framing that reflects our stated viewpoint.

How to report an error

If you believe an article contains a factual error, contact us with the article URL, the specific passage in question, and evidence (for example, a primary source or the original outlet's reporting). Email us at [email protected].

What happens next

When we confirm an error:

  • We update the article body and, when appropriate, the headline or deck;
  • We update the “Updated” timestamp on the article page;
  • For significant corrections, we may add a brief editor's note at the top or bottom of the article describing what changed and when.

We do not silently rewrite history: meaningful corrections should be visible to readers who return to the story.

Clarifications vs. corrections

Minor clarifications (grammar, typos, link fixes) may be made without a public note. Factual corrections that could mislead a reader if left unaddressed will be noted or timestamped as described above.
