A woman who unloaded an AR-15-style rifle at Rihanna and A$AP Rocky's Beverly Hills-area home — piercing a trailer the couple sat in and a nursery wall where their three children were with a nanny — has been found mentally competent to stand trial, months after the shooting that could have killed them all. Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 36, of Orlando, Florida, was found competent Tuesday by Los Angeles County Judge Maria Cavalluzzi following psychiatric evaluations, according to WDIV ClickOnDetroit. The case documents detailing those evaluations are sealed. Ortiz had been pulled out of the regular criminal process shortly after it began while her competency was assessed — meaning the system paused only after she allegedly opened fire.
Prosecutors say Ortiz drove a Tesla to the property on March 8, pointed the rifle out the window, and sprayed at least 20 rounds at the home and a neighboring house. She faces 10 counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm — one for every person on the two properties — plus three counts of shooting at an occupied vehicle or dwelling. She has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and more than a dozen total felony charges.
