Gunfire struck a middle school in Aurora, Illinois, wounding two young adults and piercing the walls of a building where children normally sit — another failure of governance in Democrat-run cities where the political class offers excuses and the press looks away.
Waldo Middle School was hit by bullets during a July 11 shooting on Aurora's near east side, according to the Aurora Police Department. Two people — a 19-year-old and a 20-year-old — suffered gunshot wounds in the area of Jackson Place and Anderson Street. The 19-year-old remains in critical but stable condition; the 20-year-old was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Nobody was inside the school at the time. That is pure luck, not policy.
Police say the victims were attending a gathering at a home in the first block of Jackson Place when they were both shot. Multiple shell casings were recovered at the scene. No arrests have been made. The department is asking residents with information to come forward.
