White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt says what the institutional press won't: the Democratic Party is being swallowed by a communist revolution, and the evidence is already on the ballot.

Democratic Socialists of America–backed candidates are toppling longtime incumbents in primary after primary, and the Beltway press would rather fact-check the bookshelves on Air Force One than cover it.

In Colorado's 1st District, 29-year-old Democratic Socialist Melat Kiros defeated 15-term incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette. In Washington, D.C., Democratic Socialist councilwoman Janeese Lewis George won a seven-way primary to replace Mayor Muriel Bowser. In New York, DSA candidates swept through: Claire Valdez in NY-7, Darializa Avila Chevalier in NY-13, and Brad Lander in NY-10.

Leavitt went on Fox News with Jesse Watters and named the pattern directly. "This is not your granddaddy's Democrat Party. This is not the Democrat Party of JFK," she said. "This is a full-blown communist revolution that is taking over Capitol Hill right now."

She framed the ideology around what she called the "3 Ps" — prison, police, and private property. "They don't want any of those things, and those are the ideals that founded this great country 250 years ago."

Leavitt warned that Democratic leadership knows the ground has shifted under them. "Chuck Schumer is worried about his leadership position. He should be because if he was in a primary in New York State against Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is a socialist and probably commie-curious, he would get wiped out," she said. "Hakeem Jeffries is afraid of these candidates running because they are going to take over the Democrat Party."

President Trump has called this strain of communism the biggest threat the country has faced in 250 years. Leavitt agreed: "Communism is easy to sell. You just promise people free stuff until a few years, you're living in squalor with no free home, no free food. You're just sitting there with a whole bunch of communists looking around and saying, 'What the heck happened to our failed state?'"

Meanwhile, HuffPost covered Leavitt too — by zooming in on her Instagram photos aboard the new Air Force One, the $400 million jet gifted by Qatar, to mock what appeared to be fake books on the shelves behind her. The outlet noted taxpayers funded up to $1 billion in security upgrades for the plane. The bookshelf angle — literal IKEA-style decor — was the story HuffPost chose to run.

Gateway Pundit framed Leavitt's remarks as a warning about a party in the midst of a communist takeover, cataloguing each DSA victory as evidence. HuffPost buried the DSA primary wins entirely and focused on the Air Force One interior. One outlet covered the ideological conquest of a major American political party. The other covered the shelf props.

The question isn't whether the word "communist" is hyperbole. The question is whether the institutional press will ever acknowledge the ideological transformation happening in plain view — or whether they'll keep pointing at the furniture while the house burns.
