A University of Michigan student shoved conservative influencer Lizzy Benichou to the ground on the Ann Arbor campus and then declared she should have killed her — the latest evidence that years of woke indoctrination have bred open hostility toward anyone who dares dissent from campus orthodoxy.
The stakes are straightforward: if you can't ask a question on a public campus without getting body-slammed, the First Amendment is already dead on the grounds that are supposed to cherish it most.
According to the New York Post, the attack unfolded Sunday near a table displaying a sign that read "Is Islam Compatible with the West?" The unidentified student launched into a profane tirade against two men seated at the table, clapping in one man's face and demanding to see their "f–king permit." When the man told an officer she had struck him, she denied it despite multiple onlookers recording the incident.
Benichou, standing nearby, asked someone off-camera whether the student's style of dress would be acceptable in Iran. The question set the student off. She shoved Benichou to the ground and charged at her. A bystander pulled her away, but she broke free, dropped her backpack, and lunged again before a police officer and another man intervened.
The officer forced her to the ground and handcuffed her as she struggled. "What the f–k are you going to do to me? Because I hit a dumb ass bitch in the face?" she said, according to the Post.
Then came the threat. As officers placed her in the back of a patrol car, she shouted: "I'd do it again every f–king time, you stupid f–king c–t!" and "I should've f–king killed you when I had the f–king chance." Onlookers gasped. When someone asked if she was kidding, she doubled down: "No, I'm not f–king kidding you."
Another onlooker told her to go to a mental hospital. Her response: "I've already been to a mental hospital. And I'll go again if it means killing you."
Benichou later confirmed on X that she was "OK" after being "physically assaulted simply for showing up and exercising my First Amendment rights." She added: "Political violence has NO place in the United States of America."
Notably absent from the record: any statement from the University of Michigan administration. A student physically assaulted someone on campus for asking a question, threatened to kill her, and admitted to prior mental hospitalization — and the institution charged with student safety has offered nothing.
The attacker's identity remains undisclosed. What is clear is the atmosphere that produced her. Universities have spent years teaching students that dissent is violence and that silencing opponents is justice. When one of those students takes the lesson literally, administrators look the other way. The question isn't whether this will happen again. It's who gets shoved to the ground next time.
