A man opened fire on two people at a Coeur d'Alene apartment complex early Tuesday, striking both victims with a single round — and police still won't tell the public who pulled the trigger or whether he'll face charges.
The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. at a residential facility in the 200 block of 19th Street that houses adults with developmental disabilities or brain injuries. According to the Coeur d'Alene Press, a male and female victim had returned from downtown when a male resident of the complex confronted them. An argument escalated until the resident fired one shot that hit the man in the upper chest, just above the heart, and struck the woman in the hand.
Both victims were transported to Kootenai Health. Their conditions have not been released.
