Five years ago this week, Andrew Breitbart passed away very suddenly and, as some have argued, rather suspiciously. It was just weeks after his energetic CPAC speech where he told the crowd about his plans to "vet" Obama in the 2012 election by releasing damning videos from his Harvard days. This timeline raises questions for sure, but Breitbart's threat to the media, political and academic establishment extended well beyond this incident. Today, the focal point of Breitbart's legacy is the very pro-Trump website Breitbart.com. The more I learn about Andrew and what he stood for, the more I see this as an unfair association. Breitbart was a man ahead of his time, and he viewed himself as pied piper of citizen journalism and a new and more effective check against leftist propaganda.
