The U.S. goal of reinventing Afghanistan into a Western-style centralized democracy was doomed to fail, the Washington Post revealed.

You know it's kind of funny....We go to 'Nam get our asses kicked, Russia goes to Afghanistan get it's ass kicked, we go to Afghanistan and get our asses kicked....Atleast Russia was smart enough to stay the hell out of 'Nam, doesn't say too much about the Pentagon brass.

Afghanistan is called the "Graveyard of Empires" with good reason. As I've mantained it was not in our interests to go there and what is worse the so called "leadership" knew and we are still there to this day pissing away trillions. When will new leadership stop throwing good money after bad and throwing the lives away of any armed service members who happen to be wounded or killed in this God forsaken sandbox ?

We should never have been there doing nation-building to begin with. We should have gone in, done our mission (taking out terrorists) then leaving. Should not have even needed a full military presence either. But Bush wanted that pipeline from central asia and so did his spymaster successor, Obama...

The US can win wars. We need just to have the proper resolve and do what needs doing. You can't be 'nice' and win a war. You have to be a mean nasty bastard. We are unwilling to be that it seems.

The military-industrial complex doesn't care about winning wars, just continuing to make money from them.

"The Ministry of Peace supports Oceania's perpetual war against either of the two other superstates: The primary aim of modern warfare (in accordance with the principles of doublethink, this aim is simultaneously recognized and not recognized by the directing brains of the Inner Party) is to use up the products of the machine without raising the general standard of living."

Now “US Officials” say $70 trillion can win another war they know is not winnable. The climate control war. The world pollution is irreversible. Pollution of land, air, water gets greater by the second. Out paces the effort to slow it down. New Green Deal a scam. They want $70 trillion from US taxpayers. But at the same time give trillions in aid to the greater poor population in the world so they can grow industries, make more stuff, buy more stuff. pollute more. Pollution is irreversible and will get worse. Another war not winnable and they know it. To win requires global suicide. Humans=pollution. No humans, no additional pollution. Or to win requires living like cavemen. Neither truth is going to be suggested by US Officials. Not going to happen. Not a winnable war. If all humans died right now, pollution would continue for centuries as all we leave behind degrades, contaminated land and water.

Occupying Afghanistan was profoundly stupid. Occupation was Bush's idea. I was a J5 Plans Officer at Central Command during that period and we had no plan to occupy that shit-hole - just kill Osama bin Laden and his clowns and get the f%$k out. Initially Rumsfeld was not keen to occupy but he caved to Chenny and Bush. Of course General Franks was ball-less and a politician. He didn't care how many Americans died there as long as the Washington elite loved him. Just like the Iraq invasion and occupation, the whole Afghanistan endeavor was exceptionally stupid and remains so today.

We lost the second we started sending in large numbers of grunts, which changed the primary objective from hunting down Osama bin Laden/al-Qaeda, to nation building. At first, talking before Tora Bora in late 2001, We only had small numbers of special forces in Afghanistan that were working closely with local allies. No occupation force, or anything like that. Just a focused objective. Instead of trying to force tribal barbarians into the 21st century, we should of focused our efforts in Pakistan, which is where bin laden and a lot of his associates fled to. Probably would of found him a lot sooner if we hadn't been fucking around with bullshit in Afghanistan.

What's to win?

Nuke the entirety of the middle East and eradicate islam. The globalists put Americans there to die for oil, drugs, lithium etc.
