The director of Arizona's Department of Public Safety posted video Wednesday of himself being caught speeding at 90 mph in a 75 mph area — and being let go with a warning and no ticket.

He's not a dumbass for going over 90. He's a dumbass for posting the video.

Robots are coming to the massive ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, replacing dockworker jobs. But truckers are delighted, since they'll be able to move cargo faster, earning more money.

Ten years ago, I had a friend whose parents were both in that exact same dockworker's union. He was majoring in mechanical engineering, but planned to go into the union as his parents did. Small wonder--each of them made around $300k, without a college degree.

It would be so easy for the L.A. Times to just come out with wage information, but they don't. Why not? Is that not important information for the public to evaluate the matter on their own?

It's because they are on the side of the Democrats, which includes the unions usually, and don't want to piss them off. Shame.

A federal judge in New York on Wednesday struck down a new rule that would have allowed health care clinicians to refuse to provide abortions for moral or religious reasons.

So this federal judge has decided that the state can compel a clinician to murder? This can't get overturned fast enough. There's no way I would perform an abortion if I were a clinician--not even if it meant losing my job.

Of course, the article completely forgot to mention that he was appointed by Obama: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_A._Engelmayer

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has questions surrounding the death of financier Jeffrey Epstein, which was ruled a suicide.

He was murdered. Let's stop pretending to be dumb here--even my staunch Democrat grandmother knew immediately that he had been killed.

Nobody truly believes that he killed himself.

There was controversy this week over a Catholic priest refusing to let Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden receive Holy Communion because of his support for abortion.

I hate to say it, but I think Pope Francis closer to the truth on this one. During the actual Last Supper, Jesus shared with Judas with full knowledge that Judas would betray him: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+26%3A17-30&version=NIV

Judas was far from deserving.

However, I doubt that Jesus saw it as "medication for the sick"--if he meant it as that, it would not have failed to heal Judas. Rather, it simply was what it was--the establishment of a ceremony for Christians to honor and remember His sacrifice.

I doubt that Jesus saw it as "medication for the sick," though--if he meant it as that, it would be that and Judas would have changed his ways.

Underneath a layer of growing modernization lies a heavy-handed and repressive apparatus in Iran that enforces strict adherence to Islamic law.

I'm no fan of Iran, by any stretch. I'm pretty sure that this is a propaganda piece to condition the public for some future military action. That having been said, there are few other countries more deserving than they are.

In consideration of their justice system--that man that had his fingers cut off had already been convicted of stealing seven times before. In our justice system, taxpayers would be giving the state $40k per year to house him in jail, just to have him come out and steal again. Is that more humane? Maybe. But it certainly does seem dumb to punish the good for the acts of the wicked, especially if there is almost zero chance of reform.

Similarly, we have people on death row that have been there for decades. Does that provide justice for their victims? No, it does not. In my opinion, it should be the victims that have a say in the punishment--not liberal groups like Amnesty International.

You can bring up that cliche about killing someone not bringing back your loved ones, but it's such a stupid argument because nobody expects that to happen anyway; they want justice, and to make sure it doesn't happen to anybody else.

We need to reform our own justice system before we go around criticizing others'.

A federal judge has determined that Harvard’s policy doesn’t intentionally discriminate against Asian-American applicants, a victory for the university that is expected to be appealed as high as the Supreme Court.

Fucking insane.

Looks like someone might have just gotten themselves a spot on the faculty when she retires.

Just FYI--Allison Burroughs, Obama appointee.

It takes a lot of guts to admit your kid lied like that, as well as to ask forgiveness of the accused. It's a step in the right direction.
