"In their view, Trump — like Kavanaugh — is merely the victim of a smear campaign: guilty of nothing and targeted only because of ideology and politics."
Disingenuous framing by the author in an otherwise reasonably neutral article. Why use the word "merely"? Because it implies they are denying a larger truth. Why use the word "victim"? Because it implies the target is reacting emotionally. Why claim they say "guilty of nothing" when only specific allegations are unproven? Because it is an absurd straw man.
"We’re dealing with [Carrie Fisher's] deleted scenes from the previous Star Wars movie being awkwardly inserted, not unlike Raymond Burr’s Godzilla footage, into this new movie."
"She earned a [Texas A&M] communications degree... But like many of her post-grad peers, she accepted whatever work she could find... working in a call center left her on the brink of depression." Another pampered millenial with a useless degree complaining about having to work for a living... just like the rest of us. Next she will demand that we pay off her student loans.
I love how the headlines are now all along the lines of "Can impeachment be saved?!"
"Don't you dare finish that sentence, or I'll send you to a chamber. And it won't be the chamber of commerce!" Hitlerious!
Vote was 23 to 17... fnord
"That U.S. Special Forces had killed Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of the Islamic State movement, could be considered positive news for the president, some Democratic voters conceded in interviews, except that Mr. Trump presented the news in such an unpleasant way." Are you serious? This is why trump is winning.
"...we moved in, white folks moved out... and they left communities in shambles." So you moved in, someone else moved out and now the place is a shithole. And you blame the person who moved away.
"[Trump's] tweets offend more voters than they attract."
NOTE: You said his tweets "offend" voters, but not "repel" them. Polls are showing that a lot of people who are offended by Trump will vote for him anyway. They like what he has accomplished. They don't care so much about being offended.
"Eve recounted a dinner party [with] her closest girlfriend... "my husband begged her to change the subject." Eve's husband ended the conversation and cut off all interaction with her friend."
What a controlling asshole. Not surprised to see this behavior rewarded.
