Oak Park trustee Susan Buchanan berated fellow trustees for speaking on racial equity and oppression during Monday's board meeting.

Pure collectivism & utterly racist. This woman needs to be fired from her job & morally denounced.

Lawyers for Sandra the orangutan won a landmark appeal in 2014 which deemed her a "nonhuman person".

An orangutan doesn't have a rational faculty that's capable of understanding & respecting the concept of individual rights (no more than a lion or shark does), and so it cannot have those rights itself. Individual rights have to be reciprocated.

More than 300 boys and men, some as young as five and many in chains and bearing scars from beatings, have been rescued in a raid on a building that purported to be an Islamic school in northern Nigeria, police said on Friday.

This is inevitable in a religion / political ideology (Islam) which sanctions and mandates the subjugation & enslavement of unbelievers.

Tony Blair is desperate for the truth about Islam not to get out, because he spent almost the last two decades telling everyone that Islam is a religion of peace, and so if it turns out Islam ISN'T a religion of peace (like British First argues), then boy oh boy does Tony Blair have some explaining to do.

Hundreds of cheetahs are smuggled from the Horn of Africa to Gulf countries each year, where they're sold to the ultra-rich as pets. At the current rates of trafficking, the cheetah population in the region could soon be wiped out.

If there's a market for them, breeders will have a financial incentive to breed more of them, thus ensuring that they don't go extinct.

...the United States is locked on a path that leads directly to the Third World of 60 years ago. President Trump is helpless to do anything about it...

It wasn't "globalism" that did this, but the fact that the US economy is less competitive than the Chinese economy, owing to onerous US regulatory, tax and other burdens (which China has far less of). The solution is for the US to stop taxing, regulating and otherwise burdening the US economy. That would require a vast scaling back of the size/scope of the US government, which only few actually want to do. So instead, what we'll hear is instead more crap about the bogeyman of "globalism", thus letting people avoid having to face the truth about the state of the US economy and of the big government that seems intent on making it a burdensome and restrictive place to do business.

The New York Times' “1619 Project,” which aims to chronicle the history, legacy, and modern ramifications of slavery on the 400th anniversary of the first African slaves being brought to the colonies, has generated a ton of controversy this week. But I wanted to approach the topic from another angle: how slavery doomed the possibility of achieving limited government in the United States.

Allowing everything else to be dealt with at a state and local level is just punting big/unlimited government to state/local government.

Big/unlimited government is bad regardless of whether it's at the federal, state or local level, because it will inevitably involve the violation of the individual's unalienable rights.

Big/unlimited government doesn't become morally good, just & rights-respecting, just because it's being done at the state or local level.

Central banking is a terrible idea too, because it's a monopoly, the government will use it to interfere with the economy, and the government will use it to print money for its own uses - All of which is blatantly rights-violating.

Socialism is taking my generation by storm. But just like a hurricane, socialism didn’t gain traction overnight.

"Truth is, young people need exactly the opposite of socialism — pro-growth policies and restrained, common-sense regulation"

The author is accepting the premise of government regulation, and thus cannot stand against it on principle, without looking like a hypocrite. It's like saying "I want less tyranny" - To which any tyrant will say "Oh so you're not actually rejecting tyranny then? OK, well, request denied. You've accepted the premise of tyranny, so now you must accept the consequences."

Also, what are "pro growth policies"? It's such a vague term as to be useless. Even socialists claim that socialism is a "pro growth policy". It can mean anything to anyone. You have to be specific.

. Elon Musk tweeted "Nuke Mars" on Thursday. Musk has championed the idea of launching nuclear weapons just over Mars' poles since 2015. He believes it will help warm the planet and make it more hospitable for human life. The idea is to release the CO2 trapped inside Mars' ice caps, producing a greenhouse effect. A study done in 2018 concluded that using Mars' CO2 to replicate the Earth's atmosphere would be impossible with today's technology. Visit Business Insider's homepage for more stories. Elon Musk tweeted on Thursday evening "Nuke Mars." A few hours later he followed it up with "T-shirt soon." Although the tweet is in Musk's typically flippant style, the billionaire has long championed the idea of firing nuclear weapons at the red planet with the aim of terraforming it - i.e. making the surface habitable for humans. It wouldn't work. CO2 causes far less warming than people believe it does. Much of the warming that is ascribed to CO2 is actually the result of solar heating and a lack of low clouds.

Beef products are to be removed from sale at Goldsmiths University as part of a plan to become carbon neutral by 2025.

The climate changes because of cosmic rays and solar cycles - NOT because of CO2. The whole world has been deceived into believing that CO2 is the culprit, when CO2 has only actually caused 0.1C of warming over the past century, of which Man has only caused 0.01C of warming. So all these idiots who care about their "carbon footprint", are suffering privations and forcing others to suffer them too, all based on a LIE. The whole world has been conned.
