If a country had a fixed pot of money (wealth), wealth inequality would be a problem. But a country's economy is NOT a fixed pot of money. The pot can shrink and expand.
One person being a billionaire does not prevent the next person from also being a billionaire.
Wealth inequality, as an issue, is nothing but wealth envy. It's greed. "I don't like it that the next guy has more than me."
The government (federal, state, and local) treats the 2A as a government-granted privilege, not as a right.
But I would make a simpler argument than what Styx is making. Let's take the government argument to a different right (not even technically a right, but is treated as such) - the "right" to vote.
Why should anyone be allowed to vote when they have a demonstrated inability to manage their own finances? Why should anyone on public assistance (no, I don't mean Social Security and MediCare; I mean Section 8 housing, welfare, foodstamps, etc.) be allowed to vote?
The government (federal, state, and local) treat the 2A as a government-granted privilege, not as a right.
I hate to burst your bubble, Tim, but Obama IS a Muslim. Ignore the truth if you want, but Obama IS a Muslim.
This law perfectly illustrates why a "centrally planned" (aka Socialist) economy is a BAD idea. The idiots in government have no idea what they're doing.
They think if they pass a law with a specific goal in mind, the result of that law will be the result they intended. They don't understand market forces. They don't understand economies are dynamic. They don't understand unintended consequences.
Yes, give the economy to these people. They'll do for it what they did for free-lance writers in Kalifornia.
It's a good thing that poor struggling kid, Peter Parker, doesn't live in Mexifornia. He'd never be able to make enough money moonlighting as a freelance photographer to provide for his Aunt Mae while serving as a protector of the innocent, disguised as his alter ego, Spider-Man.
To be fair, Tim, The Industrial Media Complex has had their hands full with "Orange Man Bad". That is a full-time mission in itself. That leaves little time for petty stories like Mexifornia trampling on the constitution.
This would never pass constitutional muster (well, at least not with a CONSERVATIVE majority on the SCOTUS). This is a complete restriction of the 1st Amendment - both the free speech clause and the free press clause.
But it does highlight the tyrannical, authoritarian nature of The Left.
Yeah, turn in your guns, you'll never need them to limit the government ... my eye.
Jones (who is a self-avowed Communist, btw) finishes with this line: "But if you're just going to smear people casually on podcasts, you are playing right into the Russians' hands."
And it is PRECISELY what Nutty Nancy and the Dimocrats have been doing ever since 2016. The Russians wanted to sow discord in America and the Dimocrats said "Done". Russians wanted to foster a lack of confidence in US elections and the Dimocrats said "Done".
I never cease to be amazed at the stupidity of The Left. Their enemy can tell them what they want done and The Left takes it as their marching orders.
The El Paso mass shooter said he did NOT take inspiration from Trump but that the media would blame it on Trump anyway. It's written right in his Manifesto. The Industrial Media Complex (aka The Left) takes that passage as their marching orders and starts blaming Trump for the shooting.
It's clear Tracie Hunter has NO respect for the law OR the authority of the court. She's just another "entitled" person who believes she's free to do as she pleases with no accountability to anyone.
Cincinnati is well rid of her presiding over court cases - whether or not the residents of Cincinnati realize it.
My ideal utopian world is non-interference with developing cultures. You could call it the "Starfleet" policy - The Prime Directive.
But that is not the world we live in; it's not reality. Saudi Arabia if going to buy weapons. Period. They can buy ours, or Russia's, or China's (yes, I know France and the UK, etc. also). But they ARE GOING TO BUY WEAPONS.
I don't like it, but I don't like nuts shooting up schools and theaters either. Burying my head in the sand and wishing it was not so, does not make the reality go away.
