I don't get any power or privilege from being white. It may have been true until 1980 or so but today it's all just nonsense milked for political reasons. You can play this game without me. Good luck, you'll need it.
Would it kill the author to do at least modicum of research before writing? Is there any vetting or peer review process in place at Forbes at all? Sheesh.
"The alleged condition was that Assange must agree to say that Russia was not involved in leaking Democratic National Committee emails during the 2016 U.S. election campaign." But this is just nonsense: Assange has been saying just that since day one. In fact he said that no government was the source for the e-mails. This news is just complete non-sequitur.
"The potential for cryptocurrencies to enter the mainstream as a widely accepted alternative to traditional payment methods, such as credit cards, has been hindered by its use for criminal purposes." Media always parrot that line. Which is fine except it lies by omission: cash is used for criminal purposes all the time. Sheesh. Earth calling Guardian.
Don't worry, there is a decent chance it will be expunged.
This is a strange article. EXHIBIT 1: "there was rock solid evidence that Trump had abused his presidential power in the Ukraine case". What evidence? EXHIBIT 2: "Immediately after special counsel Robert Mueller declined to prosecute him for colluding with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election". But Mueller didn't merely "declined to prosecute", he didn't find any evidence of "collusion" (not a legal term, incidentally, like "telepathy" or "witch's eye"), so obviously he could not prosecute. Why perpetuate this nonsense, this is just getting bizarre.
OK, just one more. This whole thing is literally upside-down at every turn. Quote from Prof. Barringer: "I'm really looking forward to seeing what works the students come up with to counteract or undermine my own narratives".
But this is ridiculous. The whole POINT of a university is to TEACH students what they don't yet know. The whole POINT here is that while at a university students are not in any position to contribute to the curriculum. Sorry but this is simply how it is. Otherwise, why would they even bother going there? It is up to the PROFESSOR to decide, that's why he is getting paid in the first place. Students can only comment on purely incidental matters, like "the professor talks to quietly", or "he comes late to the class", etc. Everything else is OFF LIMITS (except gross violations, of course, like taking clothes off during the lecture and such). I'm amazed that stating the obvious in this day and age has to be written down, like I have to do now. What a waste of everyone's time!
Forgot to add: universities are places where one pursues truth, they are NOT places made to feel anyone comfortable. If you need that kind of comfort, you are not yet an adult and not ready for college in general. Get a job meanwhile, and go to college when you are mature enough to be able to live through the experience without screwing it up for everyone else.
As I've been telling my friends for years: send your kids to study in Germany. My intent was to save to ludicrous American tuition fees but now it seems there are other reasons as well. I wonder when this scourge starts spilling into the sciences? Anyway, just rename this class to "History of Western Art" and be done with it. Sheesh.
This is a parody, right?
