I'm going to be completely honest: this guy is a prick. I don't usually use such strong language, but every interaction I've had with him has been thoroughly unpleasant

My personal thoughts on Thor v. Captain America in terms of handing on titles: with Thor, it's very silly. Like Tim said, that'd be like if he handed over his beanie to someone and said "You're Tim now." Captain America... I can see that being a bit more nuanced. Yes, Steve Rogers is the original Captain America, but if I recall correctly, it was a title bestowed upon him by the US government. It's effectively a position a person can hold: if you carry the shield and wear the blue, you're Captain America. There are some heroes who have legacy titles like this: Blue Beetle from DC, for example, or the various Robins and Batgirls. I think that legacy heroes can have a really neat story attached to them, since it shows that different people can carry on the ideals that the name represents.

The problem is that Thor by his very nature CAN'T be a legacy hero. Thor's just his name: Thor is the Norse god of thunder, not some title he made up for himself. Jane Foster gaining Thor's powers? That can happen. Her becoming Thor himself? Sorry, she's not Odin's son: she can't be Thor

Here's the reason I don't care about this: I subscribe to the theory that 007 and the name James Bond are both code names for the agent who bears them. The reason why there have been so many different Bonds is because they either die or retire and someone else takes up the name. I also don't care because there hasn't been a truly good Bond movie for a long time because Die Another Day was the franchise's jump the shark moment. If I want a Bond movie, I'm going to dig up one of the old ones
