A massive hole was seen on the side of an oil tanker, off the UK coast, on March 11, after the boat collided with a cargo ship in the North Sea the day before.Footage recorded by Denys Mezentsev while at large shows the Stena Immaculate evacuating water, with severe damage observed on the left side. The tanker, carrying US jet fuel, collided with a cargo ship on March 10, resulting in what experts said could have a “devastating” impact on marine life.Speaking to the BBC, a spokesperson for Stena said that it was “premature” to say that the fire was out. The boats were “disentangled” and salvage crews are now assessing if the fires onboard are out.A sailor who was onboard the Stena Immaculate oil tanker on March 10 told the BBC that, “A massive ship came from out of the blue” and described hearing shouts to brace before the impact.Additional footage recorded by Mezentsev on the day of the incident shows efforts to extinguish the fire while a “Mayday” call to nearby vessels is heard on the radio.
