Some Christians are afraid of Yoga, for they fear that when someone starts to do yoga practices they are being yoked or combined with demons rather than source/God. The reason for this is sometimes because people who start to partake in these spiritual practices (and/or using drugs like ayahuasca) then start to have "bad" things happen to them.

The "bad" things are kind of like the "lake of fire" purifying them of past deeds they've done in order to let them go, but rather than take responsibility for it, they just label them as "bad" and try to push them away (resist dealing with them). In this video Alan Watts talks about how a Christian who wants to start living a better life, become more spiritual, to "turn over a new lead" so to speak, must not let the "devil" know because he will oppose you with all his might. Now i don't believe in "the devil" working against God. You can read more about that and how we are in charge of what "satan" or "the devil" does in the article below.

We can free ourselves of our past karma, but we have to let these "bad" events in and learn from them, rather than fight or resist them. They're not really "bad" of course because they help to free us from the wheel of samsara (see video link below for more on exiting the rat race).
