Japanese generals in decades and centuries past would have fallen on their swords due to an event like the Afghanistan withdrawal…many would have had to resign in disgrace and would never find a place in government again. But in our modern day, the ruling class…the elites…our supposed betters, never seem to suffer consequences as they continue to be relied upon for future strategies and decisions that will also probably end in failure. But debacles like this are not just seen in the foreign policy of our country, but also is the membership of Holy Mother Church. In many cases we have forgotten the traditions and customs of our past and we have failed to heed the warming of the Apostles, the Church Fathers, and the great doctors of our holy religion. For decades now, we have had to deal with decisions of leadership that have devastated the People of God. For many of these leaders, continuity with Catholic Tradition was not important, but rather having lots of innovations even if it caused rupture and discontinuity.
