Matthew Sierra, 38, a mechanical design instructor at Western Technical College, was arrested on Dec. 16, more than a month after he allegedly murdered 27-year-old Alexis Pickett inside her La Crosse home and tried to cover up the killing by setting the apartment ablaze.
