There were concerns that elite colleges continued to discriminate against Asian American applicants even after the Supreme Court decision overruling race conscious admissions — and while that appeared to be the case initially, it's now clear that Asians are making big gains. New data from Johns Hopkins reveals the proportion of Asian American admits jumped from 25 to 45 percent just since 2023, and the percentage of Black students was more than cut in half from 9.8 to 4 percent.
