The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has filed its third claim against the Trump administration since July 2025, with the latest lawsuit alleging the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) civil investigation into the organization’s embrace of so-called “gender-affirming care” for children and teens is “unconstitutionally retaliatory and discriminatory.” An AAP news story quoted the group’s President Andrew D. Racine, M.D., Ph.D., FAAP, as arguing that the Trump administration “has politicized health care for transgender and gender-diverse young people.”
