Defending Education (DE) filed a civil rights complaint with the U.S. Department of Education against Yale University for alleged discrimination on the basis of sex in programs or activities that receive federal financial assistance in violation of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. "Yale’s Title IX office apparently (and wrongly) believes that Title IX applies to discrimination on the basis of both sex and gender," wrote DE in the complaint.
