Hawaii island police are investigating a string of small brush fires that occurred this morning along Queen Kaahumanu Highway in Kona. Police said at about 8 a.m., at least eight fires measuring about 100 square feet in size each were observed along the highway, between Hulikoa Drive and Hina Lani Street.
