<body><p>STORY: :: Aid trucks leave for another border crossing as Israel says Gaza's&nbsp;Rafah crossing will stay closed</p><p>:: Rafah, Egypt</p><p>:: October 19, 2025</p><p>Trucks carrying aid packages including beef, tents, as well as fuel were seen moving in front of the Rafah checkpoint en route to the Kerem Shalom crossing on Sunday.&nbsp;</p><p>On Saturday (October 18), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Gaza's Rafah crossing will remain closed until further notice, shortly after the Palestinian embassy in Egypt announced that it would reopen on Monday (October 20). The crossing's reopening would depend on Hamas handing over the bodies of deceased hostages, Netanyahu said in a statement.</p><p>Hamas, in a statement late on Saturday, said Netanyahu's decision "constitutes a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement and a repudiation of the commitments he made to the mediators and guarantor parties".</p><p>It also said the continued closure of the Rafah crossing would prevent the entry of equipment needed to search for and locate more hostage bodies under the rubble, and would thus delay the recovery and handover of the remains.</p></body>
