DESTIN, Florida (CW39) — A Houston couple is facing charges in Florida after deputies say they left their 6-month-old baby alone on the beach. Deputies in Okaloosa County say they responded to a call Friday at Miramar Beach, where bystanders were caring for the infant. When the parents, identified as Brian and Sara Wilks, returned, investigators say they admitted to leaving the baby while taking a walk with their three other children. Security footage confirmed the family was gone for nearly an hour, officials said. The baby was found to be safe and was placed in state custody until relatives from Texas could arrive.
