Tenants living at the Independence Towers, 728 N. Jennings Road, have announced an agreement with the building’s new owner that would end an eight-month rent strike. Residents have demanded better living standards for years at the complex. On Wednesday, the Independence Towers Tenant Union declared victory, saying residents will get new leases, with rental rates negotiated with the tenant union.
