STORY: :: Boulder, Colorado :: June 1, 2025:: Boulder police say an attack on a pro-Israel rally is 'not called a terror attack at this point':: Stephen Redfearn, Boulder police chief"So what I will tell you is it is Pearl Street, it is a walking pedestrian mall downtown here, there was a lot of people out, a very beautiful day. A group of pro-Israel people that were there, a peaceful demonstration, I would not even call it a protest. I believe that happens frequently down here. They were there in that area and we were looking and actively interviewing victims and witnesses to determine if they were targeted.""So I have been in contact with our local FBI multiple times, so we are in contact with them here. We are not calling it a terror attack at this point, again, it is way too early to speculate motive. I know that there is a lot out there on social media, but I ask people to give us just a little bit of patience while we work through a really complex scene. A lot of witnesses were here; we have taken them to another location to debrief them and interview them. As we do that, I think the picture will become more clear. But it would be irresponsible for me to speculate on motive this early on. And we are only a couple of hours into this thing.":: FBI Director Kash Patel on X had described the incident as a 'targeted terror attack'While stressing that the information was “very preliminary,” Boulder Police Chief Stephen Redfearn said that the man was apprehended following calls to the police dispatch of someone with a weapon.Redfearn said he wasn’t in a position to identify the suspect yet, noting that he’d been taken to the hospital. He said there were multiple injuries among the victims, ranging “from very serious to more minor."
