He explained that maintenance crews start early each morning to ensure facilities are cooling properly. When problems arise, temporary cooling units are sent to affected schools. Miles acknowledged that these challenges will likely continue and stated that, in extreme heat, students may be relocated within the building or even sent home if necessary.
