More soaking rain is expected for the Southeast as an atmospheric river continues to feed an abundance of moisture into the region, bringing the potential for flash flooding. Heavy rain, falling on already saturated soils, will lead to pockets of flash flooding from Florida to the mid-Atlantic. However, isolated flash flooding could occur anywhere in the mid-Mississippi Valley, Tennessee Valley and mid-Atlantic, including Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte and Raleigh. Along with the heavy rainfall, we could see a few isolated severe thunderstorms.
