Part of Interstate 29 (I-29)was shut on Wednesday, March 19, after a blizzard pulled down powerlines near the Port Neal exit, on the south side of Sioux City, Iowa.This footage, posted to Facebook by Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office, shows traffic banked up as emergency crews work to repair the fallen powerlines.The Iowa Department of Transportation confirmed in an update at about 7:30 pm CDT it had reopened the I-29 from Sergeant Bluff to Missouri Valley.“The roadway was closed mid-morning due to extremely hazardous driving conditions and downed powerlines,” it said. “The interchange at Port Neal, exit 135, will remain closed overnight until crews can clear nearby downed powerlines.”The National Weather Service had issued a hazardous weather advisory, warning “patchy blowing snow remains possible.” Credit: Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office via Storyful
