Staff at a hospital in the Gaza Strip say more than 20 people have been killed in an Israeli attack in the north of the territory. Palestinian witnesses reported that a four-storey residential building in Beit Lahia near the Kamal Adwan Hospital had been hit. On Wednesday morning the hospital reported that 21 bodies had been recovered, with more suspected to still be under the rubble. The Israeli army did not initially comment.
