The Comment Section of the Internet

Silicon Valley & big tech are upping their censoring on us, folks. Now it's that very important tool, The Wayback Machine, that ostensibly let's us see a snapshot in time of websites.

But, now the Wayback Internet archive is trending down this slippery slope with its recently implemented labeling of snapshot results as potential disinformation.

"But, now the Wayback Internet archive is trending down this slippery slope with its recently implemented labeling of snapshot results as potential disinformation...“if we continue to censor the past, attaching intent to some but not to others, we will be unable to evaluate anything at all.” Indeed, the new measures instituted at the behest of MIT’s Technology Review over worries of COVID-19 hoaxes do not bode well for the survival of historical accuracy and a discerning populace."

It seems Big Tech is at it again. They can't win without censoring free speech now they will try and censor the past as well. Way to go Liberal-Progressive, Socialists, Communists, Globalists. Along with the soon to come depression, your end will follow.

Based on how current reality is constantly being re-interpreted by the left and how history is constantly being ripped up and repaved by the left, don't you wonder if ANYTHING you ever learned is accurate at all? Surely bald faced lying isn't an invention of the last 20 years.

I can't think of a single institution I trust today. And much of what I learned in school turns out to be wrong -- both scientific knowledge and historical information. And I question whether anything we've ever learned about history has any basis in fact. The more you realize you live in a reality fog, the more disturbing it becomes.

Everyone knows what the wayback machine is, it is a view port back in time, good bad or ugly, just like a high school yearbook.

These people that want to place labels aren't worried about misinformation, they are worried when history is written in the future they will be cast in the role of "The Fools"

WikiLeaks ought to bodge together the same functionality.

Oh pffff, that is a relief, I thought they were going to say it was purchased by Bill Gates or something. But their are just adding labels like they have on youtube? That's not even an issue, anyone with a brain would be able to deduce that "oh, you want me to think this is misinformation?" and then become more curious and do more research into who is deciding such lables and why.

Censorship is futile so long as we have our ability to think and reason!

This is the kind of stuff that really creeps me out. This is like the library associations purging non woke and non progressive books from the shelves. What can we do to stop it?
