The only authentic Jesus I know of is the one I've read in the Bible.
I've seen every episode... so far its been awesome... there are lots of scenes not directly from the Bible, but all 4 gospels say thefe was much more Jesus did than what they wrote.
You see the disciples doing human stuff.. joking around a fire.. fishing... gathering food.. even falling into sin... its been pretty good to see some of the periphery that we know was in Jesus' life
Thus far (2 of 7 planned seasons in) my wife and I are both very pleased with The Chosen, and have cheerfully donated to help it continue each year.
Nobody knows what authentic Jesus would be. We have a handful of 1st century AD accounts and a lot of speculation. This is obnoxious to assume--but we live in an obnoxious and unapologetic world now.
CBN is evil
Again they are concentrating on Jesus earthly ministry, which was 100% Jews only, under the Law, that was inherently the Lord dealing specifically with Israel. Jesus purposely only spoke to Jews, except on but a few occasions. The four Gospels are an extension of the Old Testament, He never told His followers to quit going to the Temple, stop animal sacrifice, but to stay strictly Mosiac Law abiding. Jesus COMMANDED His followers not to have anything to do with the Heathens/Gentile/Uncircumsised people, "These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." Yet today's Christianity generally confuses everyone by telling their congregations that they are expected to be religious Jew Believers in Christ clones, when that is impossible, since they disregard the work of the cross that ended the Law, "The Ministry of Death", quid pro quo legalism, forever.
