UPS throwing away the envelope is 100% BS. That envelope was FNC's property, not UPS's. Even if they had lost the contents they had the responsibility to deliver the envelope itself and in normal circumstances that's exactly what UPS would have done. If they couldn't find the flash drive they would have delivered the empty envelope. If they found the drive they would put it back, resealed envelope then delivered it. If the envelope was unusable like a machine tor it up they would have put the drive and the wrecked envelope into a larger package and delivered both the drive and it. Clearly UPS threw the envelope away because they didn't want anyone to see that one of their employees opened the package and did something with the contents for some period of time.
