The 1st amendment prohibits Congress from infringing on our God-given right of Free Speech. The 14th amendment extends that prohibition to the States.
But the constitution limits government power.
Big Tech firms are open to the legislative power of Congress & the States to regulate them thru laws.
Big Tech firms are essentially a the string between two cans being used by customers to pass information. A public utility like the phone company, cable TV, radio & TV networks. As such I feel the FCC should have power to regulate the internet as it already does telcoms, wireless, radio & TV.
There needs to be legislation to protect free speech regardless of the medium used to transmit it: print, radiowaves, cable, or the internet.
