Pretty sure this proves someone inflated the box office numbers by buying up tickets at all those empty showings
They fudged the numbers. It bombed at the box office too.
Didnt fungus toes tell all the men not to bother watching it or something? Good idea, two hours not wasted for me thank.
Ugly bitch face
I remember when they used pretty actresses.
of course it's not selling, it was a mediocre movie and people realised that after seeing it in the cinema
May have something to do with the hateful, half-mental charisma vacuum that they would have us believe is the star.
"My 8 year old niece is a huge Captain Marvel fan, I certainly wouldn’t buy her a AU$40 Ultra HD version because it would be a complete waste. She doesn’t care about the definition, she just wants to see her favourite super hero kick some butt."
too much soy here for me...
What this shows is that Disney can't fudge the numbers on DVD sales. There were three factors that led to CM's "success" at the box office.
First was that it played off of the ten years of good will the MCU had generated with the fans. Ten years of largely woke-free and agenda-free movies had people largely hooked that it wasn't yet another preachy movie so it kinda blindsided a lot of the normies that thought the Marvel movies would be agenda/woke-free only for Captain Marvel to be a woke feminist movie. Word of mouth was too slow to prevent a financial success and all the non-woke people warning everyone went ignored or simply weren't heard at all. Now people know how crappy a movie it really is and have no reason to buy it. Also, a reminder, SJWs don't watch the movies, don't play the games, and don't read the comics they infest. So they're not going to buy this movie.
Second was the fact the movie was leading directly into Endgame. It was teased in Infinity War that CM had something to do with Endgame and so there were people who were like "I don't want to see this movie, but if I'm going to get any clues for Endgame, I'm going to have to." These people were the ones too heavily invested in the 10 years of storytelling to skip even one movie. With Endgame having since come out, the safety net it provided CM is gone so people have zero reason to buy the DVD.
Third and most importantly, Disney did cheat at the box office. The numbers were inflated. Here's what they did. Back when Black Panther was announced, they were afraid that "alt-right trolls" would encourage a boycott and try to tank the movie so to help pad the score if necessary, they started a "charity" for the movie. "Donate money to help underprivileged black kids see a hero just like them!" was the hook for this. Black Panther though was a decent movie and didn't need the charity angle. Hilariously, the bad guy was a raging anti-white black supremacist racist, and only at the end was there any kind of veiled political slap. Disney repeated this trick with CM only with girls "Donate money to help underprivileged girls see a hero just like them!" And the rich fools in Hollywood and around donated, probably not realizing they were donating to a slush fund so that if the movie looked like it was going to tank at the box office or under-perform (which it certainly was), they'd have a tidy few extra million in the bank they could use to buy tickets. There were many people reporting sold out shows yet the theaters were empty. That extra few million from the slush fund helped to push CM over the billion dollar mark and make it a success. If we could find out how much money they raised with that charity, we could deduct that from the box office totals for CM and find out how it would've performed naturally. I guarantee you, it would fall below a billion.
Those are the three factors that led to the movie's box office success. The DVD sales have none of those three protecting it. People have seen it and word-of-mouth is terrible. The normies know CM is another woke preachy mess and are avoiding it like the plague. People have seen Endgame now so there's no reason to see CM again for any clues leading into it. And Disney can't fudge the DVD sales as easily of CM like they did the box office tickets. They can't have a "Donate now to send underprivileged girls a copy of Captain Marvel so they can see a hero just like them!" slush fund for the DVD sales so we're actually seeing how the movie would've performed on its own merits, had it not had Endgame, 10 years of good will, and the Disney Slush Fund protecting it. I'd be curious to see how its DVD sales stack up with all the other MCU movies.
Captain Marvel comics have never sold well, they have never been popular, its only natural that this would not change, the only reason people watched Captain Marvel the movie was probably because of Endgame, and likely because nobody had ever heard of Captain Marvel, there is no reason at all why anyone would buy the dvd/bluerays.
