she had surgery. She didn't work anything off. She used her money to flaunt her surgery for instagram likes because she couldn't control her eating. That is not praise or news worthy. The surgery did its job. That is all. Pointing that out is not rude.

I wonder if the fat acceptance movement is leaving those comments.

The irony of talking shit on instagram is that you have no room to talk since you're on instagram

If somebody insults you for making this sort of improvement, you should probably pity them.

Amazing transformation. Well done, and any "friends" who discourage or denigrate you for trying to get healthy, or even just feel better, are no friends at all.

Time to lose some more weight. Specifically the weight of people who give you a hard time for making a positive change in your life. Congratulations, you look great and I bet you have a whole lot more energy. Ignore the haters, they're just like crabs in a pot, trying to pull you down.

Good for her. She looks beautiful and healthy. Doesn’t matter how she did it. She has a big job to keep it that way now and that takes commitment. Ignore the haters and enjoy your new life.

Only thing I have to say to fat women is nothing...

Sorry, I call bullshit. Women receive insane amounts of praise and affirmation for everything they do...to the point where losing weight merits an article in national news! Am I supposed to feel sorry for her because a guaranteed-tiny number of people said mean things? This is why it's pointless to feed a woman's narcissism: because it's never satisfied.

Even if she had gastric bypass surgery to lose weight it still requires a major lifestyle change for the rest of her life. As a matter of fact, you have to prove that you can do it by dieting for a year before surgery in many cases (this may vary from state to state or by doctor). It is far from easy and is usually a last resort for people who have weight problems. I know this because I know of three people in my life who have had it done.

She clearly had surgery to tuck the tummy afterwards and that is the only cosmetic part but I would still not begrudge her for that.

I always see ugly comments these days about fat people and I just don't get it. Many people can't help it and as you get older it is more difficult to get the weight off. I know about the gastric bypass because I have two relatives who have had the procedure done. I have to laugh that some people say that fat people strain the health care system but when they have to go the surgery route to fix it they are trashed for that as well. These people made positive changes in their lives, in part due to the fat shame crowd.

I would take an overweight conservative over a skinny lefturd any day!
