"Our guests' experience is a top priority at Firehouse Subs and we're saddened to say that this guest was not treated with the heartfelt service we expect at one of our restaurants," said Firehouse Subs.

There are no good guys in this story other than the manager and others not directly involved.

The fact that the customer Zhe Zhao (who is an "international student" probably from China, which means he is a communist) refuses to accept an apology from the manager tells you there is at the very least an agenda here, which is probably to get an official statement from the chain bowing down and kissing the butt of the Communist regime so that Zhao can look like a Party hero back home when it's broadcast all over state media that he made an American corporation bend the knee.

Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if the employee accused of writing "ching chong" on his receipt didn't even do it - but that Zhao hoaxed it for pure propaganda purposes.

1) I guess I could see that happening if some idiot asked for a name, couldn't understand it, and wrote ching chong in a restaurant environment. Could have happened.

2) Zhe Zhao sounds like a Chinese name. If the guy is an exchange student from China... FUCK him. I've been to China, and the Chinese.... do not give a fuck what we call them. They will call you a red-haired barbarian right to your fucking face in China. This is a show for the fucking Baizuo.

“As [an] international student, this is a very sad experience in United States. And I don’t understand why people have this problem in USA?”

From his family name I assume he is from China. Given his country is completely xenophobic and "racist" against various groups of its own people, I might understand if he is shocked to find the our country has any racists. It is naive, but understandable.

Until I read this. “I do not accept the manager’s personal [apology],” Zhao wrote, adding that he believes the manager is responsible for any “racial discrimination” by the employees.

Now he has gone from naive foreigner to little more than an activist, and might actually be a Chinese plant.

How about just taking your business elsewhere ?

She named him Ching Chong on his own bill?

:) that is funny, but yeah, you get fired. It's not a big deal.

Neither Chinks, nor waitresses matter very much in the scheme of things.

So, I guess when they ask my name I am now forbidden from using "Ching Chong"? What about my rights?

For the record, my food was stolen by a high school punk at a Firehouse Subs. His name was not hte same as mine but when they called my name, which is a very common name, this guy took my food. The manager made me another sandwich and gave me a card for a free sub in the future but that was it. I would have booted that punk out of the store forever if it were up to me. From that point on, I use a pseudo-name which is very unique, but now I want to use Ching Chong.

Based on the story, this is fake. Once I saw that the customer posted "I don't know this name" online, it was clearly fake.
