  • Last week, the Czech government lost a legal challenge to an EU law restricting private use of semi-automatic rifles. It was introduced by the European Union in 2017 after a spate of militant Islamist attacks in 2015. The government in Prague said the law would do nothing to increase security.

Considering this gunman used a pistol the Czech govt were not wrong. Removing Islam from Europe would no doubt be the better approach if you want to stop Islamist attacks, but no one is allowed to say that.

Considering this gunman used a pistol you have to wonder why the BBC deemed that paragraph important to this story.

How did he manage to take a gun into a gun free zone? I'm baffled.
