No problem!

All we have to is get the criminals to not be so adversarial, and I'm sure the cops will get along with them swimmingly.

If most of the gun crime is from gangs, then why are all the gun laws targeted at hunters, sport shooters, self defense people, and other people not responsible for the violence?

And since the author wants to go after gangs and other criminals while he is also concerned about racial disparity, how does he deal with the racial disparity in throwing gang members in jail?

"My takeaway is that adversarial policing—where police initiate stops—generates far more and bigger errors"

Police don't just randomly pull people over. They pull people over for no tabs, warrants, speeding, lights not working, stolen car ect. They often let people off with warnings. The errors are usually citizens who don't want to get a ticket or be held accountable for things like stealing cars or whatever their warrant was for.

"Ranked in order from most common to least common, the first code that referenced anything suggesting any kind of altercation was well down the list, barely in the top ten."

George Floyd wasn't randomly pulled over. The police were there because of a call.

Same with that guy in Kenosha. The cops were called because he violated a restraining order for abusing a woman and had her kids in his car.

We can look at statistics but we also need to look at the instances seized on by Democrat activists to cause mayhem.

The trick is, it is all about finding a reason for the mayhem. The mayhem is the strategy. It doesn't matter what the specific event is.

You can't change your behavior or the behavior of the cops and think the mayhem will end because specific events are not the cause. Mayhem for the sake of political ideology is the cause.

"You might ask other questions, like, how much of an officer’s time is spent investigating crimes that have been committed but are not yet solved, or, how much of an officer’s time is spent preventing crime? The answer to both questions would probably be some version of, well, that is what the officers are doing when they aren’t responding to calls for service."

Different types of cops do different things. It is called specialization. The guy giving you a ticket doesn't investigate murders or go undercover in gangs.

"If you supply a service, whether policing or plumbing or advertising, for which there is no demand,"

There is a demand for a safe and protected populace. Not stopping people for driving around in a stolen car, for speeding, for not having tabs, for drunk driving, and all the other reasons cops pull people over leads to a populace that is not safe from the criminal class.

We live in a time of lawlessness. People don't want to take responsibility for their actions. Society seems to think laws are optional for them.

This is retarded Marxism. There is no such thing as "adversarial policing." There is responding to CRIME. You know who is adversarial, Dems? CRIMINALS. DEERRRP.

"The reality is that we make these errors because we are terrified that if we don’t stop 100 cars for speeding, we will miss the one with the kidnapped kid in the back seat. Or, if we don’t grab 100 turnstile jumpers we will miss the one with a felony arrest warrant."

Cops don't stop speeders to look for kidnapped kids or turnstile jumpers to find felons. They do this because people are breaking the law. Does it matter what color of skin people have?

The author is advocating that we live in a lawless society, punishing all of society for the sins of a few and chances are, still wants the book thrown at people who don't have the racial get out of jail free card.

Just erase the name "George Floyd" from your mind. People who bring his name up as a justification for the idiocy they call 'reform' want to evoke an emotional response from you. They want you to react in anger. They desperately need you to respond the way the way you do because they need you to appear even more unreasonable than they are to make their ideas palatable.

And like good obedient domesticated animals, when they say bark you bark.

Stop allowing yourself to be manipulated by these people. Recognize the reality. Policing does need reform because its priorities are entirely out of whack. The first priority is to be a revenue agent. Mostly in the form of traffic enforcement.(don't BS and say you follow traffic laws - every time you drive you violate at least one such law.) Traffic enforcement is the sotto voce rationale that leads to Priority#2 on the road.

The second priority is prohibition. It failed with alcohol, but weed, heroin, meth, etc are magically different . The prohibitionists say prohibition will in fact work here we just haven't prohibitioned hard enough.

I find it exceptionally easy to not be a murderer, thief or rapist. I suspect most of you equally find it easy to not be any of those things as well. As such we ought to never have to worry about having our door kicked in by a bunch of guys dressed like they expect to find Osama hiding in the closet. But I do have to worry about this because Policing Priority #2 says its imperative that Cops be allowed to bust in a guy's door at 3AM because if we waited till morning, and/or gave him time to respond to our knocks the major drug lord criminal mastermind might manage to flush the dozens of full size weed plants we expect to find in his home down the toiled leaving us with no evidence.
