I've been a member since the 1970s, and used to vote with the Neal Knox faction, who were the real gun rights supporters in the organization. After he passed away, the NRA reverted to the executive cash machine that it is today. In the '80s, if I sent them $50, they'd spend $100 asking me for more money. I finally had to call them, to stop the 3' high pile of junk mail I'd get in a year.
