A Portland-area teacher who opposes her district’s vote to ban Black Lives Matter and LGBTQ Pride symbols in schools boasted to local media that she removed the American flag from her classroom because it represents "violence and menace and intolerance."

If that flag doesn't belong to her personally, and likewise the room in which it used to hang, removing it from display in that room is not her decision to make. Her only decision is whether or not she wishes to leave it where it was and remain employed.
