Phyddeaux is discussing:

Online retailer Boohoo will buy the brand for £55m, but not its shops, putting 12,000 jobs at risk.

BooHooo (+Asos) are nothing more than Asset Strippers: the scum of the commercial world.

This sorry fiasco was due to snobbery, plain and simple:

  1. April 2020, Mike Ashley (of Sport Direct) offered £125m for Debenhams including for most of their shops and staff. "Too low", they cried. What they meant was that Mike Ashley was too low, not his offer.
  2. Feb 2021, BooHoo buys them for $55m. A net loss of £75m and 12000 jobs. That's OK, only the plebs lost their jobs. I wonder if the Administration firm received some nice kickbacks. This whole thing stinks.

I believe this sorry fiasco was due to snobbery:

I'd like to know if that Administration firm received some nice kickbacks. This whole thing stinks.
