"But it's not just about money. Whilst we are pleased that parties are committing to increase staff numbers, it's still not clear how that will actually happen."

The numbers that need to be adjusted most urgently are the numbers of imported service users. It's the single biggest move that might well pull the NHS back from the cliff edge.

I get the impression that those at the top would prefer that the NHS collapse under its own weight and then they will feel justified in blaming the humble working tax payer for being too demanding, stingy etc rather than face the music.
