Roger Borg is discussing:

China's president didn't mention any particular region but it was seen as a warning to Hong Kong.

Reminder: this is an ethnic power struggle.

There is no Chinese people, there are literally hundreds of tribes and languages, all ruled over by a Mandarin Han minority junta who must retain power over the other ethnic groups, or suffer the backlash from hundreds of years of despotism.

Think of the Beijing Mandarin as the Germans, and the Hong Kong Cantonese as the plucky Brits, and you're not far off.
